I will be the first to tell you that I love my couch time. I love my down time. I love to sit and binge watch my shows. And of course when you binge watch, you also want to food binge as well. Who doesn’t like to sit and watch for hours and snack the whole time? I needed to make a life change.
I realized that if I didn’t make a change, then I would end up being one of those 600 pound lifers. That wasn’t going to happen, I wouldn’t let it happen. For one, it hurts to be larger! It hurts your bones, your joints, your muscles, it hurts everything and everywhere.
If nothing changes, NOTHING CHANGES
I decided to make a change with my diet and physical fitness routine. I received a gift from a very dear friend and it was one of Jillian Michales workouts. Cool, she looks like a good trainer and after all, I watched Biggest Looser. I can do this! The DVD workout was Jillian Michaels Body Shred. OMG!!! I had no idea what this would entail. It kicked my behind literally.
I started late January and am now into mid March. I have lost over 8 pounds and am I starting to see some very cool changes. See for yourself.
I am not one for posting photos of myself online but I felt that I needed to let others know, there is help, there is hope, there are ways to make changes. I still have a long way to go, but if I can do it, you can too.
Time to educate, excite, and encourage!
The purpose is to educate, excite, and encourage ANYONE to make a change.
I am on my own fitness journey as I am sure many people find themselves. One of my friends who is fit, is always encouraging me to workout, eat right, get plenty of rest, you know the drill. But then she started to give me some workout clothing, workout DVD’s and tips. I was amazed at how different I began to feel and see myself. When I put on the fitness clothing, my attitude changed.
I started to hear things like, “wow you are looking good”, now come on, I have never felt I LOOKED FINE. But these folks were Sincere. They actually meant it.
Healthy Dieting Tips
I started to eat differently, I started to count my calories. I hated doing this at first but then I found some great apps that did the work for me. I also found the Ninja Bullet and it has made a HUGE change in the way I get my juices and nutrients. I had no idea how fast and easy it would be to blend. I used to be a big blender in the past but the clean up was a pain. With the Ninja bullet, it is simple and easy.
Apps that can inspire and assist you along the way.
To name a few. These are great ways to win while you lose! They also help to encourage and push you to keep you going. There are communities within some of these programs who can offer support and help when needed as well.
WHY I WANT TO HELP PEOPLE
I have struggled with my weight for 20+ years. Hearing people say that I shouldn’t eat so much, or I eat the wrong things, or that it must be my metabolism. I don’t want others to suffer the guilt and shame. I would so rather we all accept each other and even more, ourselves. We are all made uniquely and should celebrate that. I am not saying that you shouldn’t eat right and exercise. I am a firm believer that we all need to do the best we can to have a long healthy life. But we are not made the same. We are not cookie cutter people. We are all different and that is what makes us so beautiful.
If I can influence or help someone to love and accept themselves, that is my goal.
THE GOAL OF MY SITE
Education is a beautiful thing. If you can learn a better way of living, eating, and thriving, you are on the road to better physical and MENTAL health. We are so intricately connected. Our minds and bodies and heart, it all works together. If you eat something bad for you, it affects your mental health as well as physical. I am hoping to educate myself as well as others along the way. I never stop learning. Always looking for ways to learn.
One of the things I tell myself is, if someone gives you advice, always listen. That doesn’t mean you have to take and apply that advice, but you never know when you will get a little gem that has a huge impact. Push yourself, challenge yourself. If you don’t try, you will never know what you are capable of. Strive to be the best you, you can be. After all, there is only one you and YOU are beautiful.
I love to hear from my readers and hear their success stories as well as their struggles. We can learn so much from each other. Never feel you aren’t good enough. YOU ARE GOOD ENOUGH! You are amazing and wonderful and have so much to share with the world. So what if some don’t want to hear it. Others will and they will be grateful for you and what you bring to the table.
I hope that you view this site as a safe place, no one here is judging you. No one here gets to say anything bad about you. Keep going, keep swimming, keep trying and you are a winner. You are a strong amazing person who has more value than you know.
If you ever need a hand or have any questions, feel free to leave them below and I will be more than happy to help you out.
All the best,
